Welcome to the first blog of 2013, and of course I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year.

You probably won’t be interested to know that mine was complete shit on a personal level, but amazing on a work level.

So my ex comes out, it’s her 4th time here and after her first visit last July, we got back together.
In April she decided she couldn’t make the move here permanently, but still wanted to come for Xmas and New Years, but it just did not work out.

Was OK the first few days.
A nice Mexican at Rango’s (though there was none of the hot sex on the roof I had after I took Amanda there about three weeks earlier!), a nice Xmas Eve gig at A/C bar on Koh Tao, even though everyone threw up on the boat on the way up there as the waves were over two metres high.

In the evening, after her stomach had calmed down we had Tapas at Moov-HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, so it wasn’t like she was just following me about working.

We were on the 9.30am boat back on Xmas Day-and there had been some stupid part of me that thought as it was so early, especially after Xmas Eve when everyone was out on the lash (drinking!) it would be empty.

Doh! STUPID. In case of any libel action I won’t name the boat company other than to say it wasn’t Seatran,(LOL!) but it was so packed, that when we boarded they said go straight upstairs.
The outside bit was already full so there was no option but to go in the VIP, and then they came round and charged us another 100baht each!

I had to play a 12 till 2 daytime set at The Beach Village, which I made only just in time as the boat had ended up almost an hour late, and a big thanks to Boyonic for coming earlier as Snoopoid had got too fucked the night before at the 10th anniversary party of Pirates Bar and didn’t make his set. Or maybe he was still enjoying his Xmas present, and we will leave it at that as well.

The rest of Xmas Day was spent at Sail Rock Divers who laid on an amazing Xmas dinner and there was even a Secret Santa. I am sure a photo will appear somewhere of me wearing a gold cloak and what can only be described as the gayest shorts you ever saw!!
You see you HAVE to wear the present you get if it’s clothing of any kind.

Then Boxing Day (26th) I finally get to go to Khaosok, though, of course I picked the wrong place.
We went to the rainforest instead of the Dam, and as we only had one full day there –travelling took up 8 hours on the days each side-there was just no time to go anywhere else. I though t it was still nice though, but for sure it didn’t match the vids my friends showed me.
And then it all went Pete Tong (wrong!) Why did God give girls PMT-THAT was a big fuck up!! And I will leave it at that.

I thought the post from someone about taking Eva Mas to Bangkok after her no placing in the Miss Haadrin competition was hilarious-but well done Eva for having a go anyway!

Tommy Resort on both Full Moon and Countdown was mind blowing-Ok, sure the music isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but we are talking about THE BEACH and not some cool underground tech house party.

Big thanks to the genius that is Rob Gritton, also Rory Gallagher (on his way to being a genius, kind off), for getting Countdown underway nicely and Space Monkey and Ton for delivering awesome sets also.
If there were 50,000 on the beach, then at least 25,000 of them were at Tommy!!

The much publicised tragedy concerning the young Briton was of course terrible beyond words, the only “good” (I can’t think of another word to use instead) was that this was not a local against tourist thing, buit local against local, but it’s still not good for the island, as are some of the ridiculous beyond words crap written by the Western media.
I know many reading this are anti Full Moon anyway, but sorry, the fact is that because there IS a Full Moon party, many other parties benefit because of the huge influx of tourists, as well as every business on the island.

On the way home, some dick had smashed his bike into one of the big ditches on the left in the Haadrin Hills.
He was so fucked, his girlfriend not so fucked and I urged him not drive it anymore once we got it back on the road but iof course the fucking idiot didn’t listen. I should have done him a bigger favour and left it in the ditch!

I heard that Guys Bar was the nuts (the bollox, amazing) as usual even despite the weather –it did piss down till 9pm.
I also just found out that no speedboats ran between 7pm and 1am from Samui to Haadrin, as the weather was even worse there. And how amazing that once the rain stopped here at 9pm, it never started back up again.
How did that work? The Buddha? God? Allah?

Much of the first day of the new year was spent in bed, and not even my own as I had rented the villa. And alone of course.
When I finally got up I want to Crave in Haad Yao and got a free night of food and drink as they wanted to borrow my jeep the next day-RESULT!!
They were so packed, which was nice to see and Ramona Sky stopped by to cheer me up, bless her.

Congrats to the team at The Beach Village for an awesome Rhythm & Sands-truly great numbers and atmosphere.

I was actually commentating at possibly the worst Muay Thai fight night ever (it wasn’t at any actual training camp thank God) and had totally run out of all ideas how to keep the crowd from dying with boredom (I had actually fallen asleep twice!) when I got a call at 12.45 asking me where the fuck I was!

I thought I was playing 3 till 6 but it got moved and I swear no-one told me it was now 12.30-2.30, so I bolted out of the arena faster than that fucking dog in Srithanu chases you on your scooter, and ended up just 25mins late by the time I started!

Friday was Half Moon, and I knew I shouldn’t have gone.
Not because it wasn’t busy, because it was.
And not because Rory Gallagher pulled a honey at Electronic Lounge earlier, but just because my head was not in the right place.
I ended up having to walk all the way to the road as I has stupidly left my bike at The Beach Village and gone there in their truck.

As if it is not embarrassing enough leaving a party on your own looking like a) you couldn’t pull (maybe I could have but I just didn’t try!) or b) looking like you have no mates. (I do but they did not wanna go home, and I can’t say I blame them) so there I was looking like a Turk at a Greek wedding
( I just made that up as I didn’t want to do the pork chop at a Jewish wedding line, and actually I think it’s quite good!) and waiting for a taxi.

Thankfully the wait wasn’t long and in it were one couple and 3 single guys.
Please don’t think I got excited because of 3 single guys, but the fact that they were leaving with no girls made me feel a whole lot better about myself.
And it turns out the guys came from London and used to go to my night called Peach, so that cheered me up a little.

As did the WHOLE bottle of Sangsom on Saturday night that the guests left when I had rented my villa. I drank the whole bottle while watching the new Spider Man and MIB movies that they had also kindly left.
And then I still took a Zanex when I went to bed.

So obviously Sunday was a shit day too!
But I still went to Pirates Bar in the nigh time, and it was nice to see Venus Vibes back, and it was really busy.

But something I had eaten earlier clearly was determined to be born again inside me and rip both my stomach and arse to shreds. Both of these body parts of mine I happen to like very much, (especially my arse as I think it’s my best feature!!) so I had to leave after an hour after being moaned at each of the four times I used the loo at Pirates for being in there too long. “I got the shits” doesn’t seem to sound that good in a party environment!

So today I started my new resolutions.
Well there was no point in starting them any earlier as I was determined to be pissed for as long as I could, and smoke to the point of getting and dying of cancer in the same day.

But sense has prevailed, and today was muay thai and tomorrow will be yoga and to continue like that each day.

Well that’s the plan anyway.
Must say thanks to Inlighten for the thoughtful texts, and I am looking forward to working with him on this new project.
Not sure I can say what it is yet, maybe next week.
But it’s not a plan to make everyone on the island where dreads!
