Phanganist presents Drum n Bass DJ Orawan

Bangkok's well respected female DJ has returned and is now residing back in her hometown of Bangkok, DJ Orawan is set to whip up a storm on the club scene out in S.E Asia.

Running her own nights called Bass Clef bringing DNB to the scene, we talk about the Bass scene in Bangkok and how she fell in love with the music.

DJ Orawan is responsible for bringing big names such as Sub Zero down to the island of Koh Phangan and has played at the Full Moon Party.

We talk about the uniqueness of Drum n Bass and how the scene has been affected by the virus situation here in Thailand.

DJ Orawan got her first taste of DJ-ing at Koh Phangan's infamous Full Moon Party, pushing to this day on 13 years. She was immediately hooked on the rhythm of driving and rumbling bass which still has her coming back for more. Orawan quickly set out to buy her first records in 2004 after moving to New Zealand in 2002 and being exposed to a rapidly evolving drum and bass scene and hasn't looked back ever since. 

Not content with just playing for other promoters, Orawan has decided to channel her love of Bass Driven music as well as DJing into promotion. 

In 2007, the rise of her bi-monthly night "KINETIC" pushed the finest local talent onto the Auckland scene at FU BAR, one of NZ's largest clubs to offer. 

She also played support on New Zealand's Hip Hop legend KiNG KAPISI on her Hip Hop Lives Here tour. With over 300,000 people attending, Culture One, The Full Moon Party, Bangkoks own Dubway and Yaak Party as well as playing alongside Thai Hip Hop pioneer-Thaitanium at Bacardi Hitz Unheard, she played headline shows throughout South East Asia including the 2010 and 2011 massive Honda music festival. 

In addition, she also secured a residency at one of Bangkok's hottest & legendary nightclubs, Bed Supperclub, and hosts one of Bangkok's biggest monthly drum & bass nights "Phatfunk" and launched her 2013 "Bass Clef" Bass Music night.
