Koh Phangan party

Koh Phangan island has been famous for many years as the party island.
Starting more than 20 years ago with the famous Full Moon Party andsince then developing into the main party center of the South East Asia, side by side with Goa but happening here all year long.

The party scene on Koh Phangan started with trance parties and jam sessions on Haad Rin Beach and expanded over the last years all over the Island.
Mainly the Baan Tai area at the south side of the island between Haad Rin and Thong Sala is presenting a big variety of music genres played. The underground House music with it's many different styles is now the most popular genre if you look for parties out of Haad Rin. Everything from Lounge to Deep or Tech and House music are played at venues such as Loi Lay. More Deep Funky style is playing at the Jungle Experience and Tech House with Minimal touch is usually played at the Sramanora waterfall party and Pirates bar.

Trance vibes can be found at the Blackmoon Culture who plays Dark and Psy Trance. The Halfmoon Festival which starts with House Progressive music, usually performed by one of its residents like DJ Boyonic, develops through the night to Full-ON Trance. Ban Sabaii which is the ultimate afterparty spot after all the Moon parties starting at 7am during the high season mostly. During the low season sometimes the parties starts only at 6pm. They continue all day long on it's beautiful spot on the beach in Baan Tai and plays mostly Trance Progressive. The beautiful Old School Shiva Moon party which is held usually 3 days before and 3 days after every Full Moon party is playing Psy Trance music as well. On Haad Rin beach the Zoom bar is playing Trance music every night.

Popular Club and Dance music can be found every night on Haad Rin Beach. Cactus bar and Drop In are the main venues making events every night starting with social games and competitions such as Fire Limbo jumping on a burning rope and fire dance shows.

During the Full Moon Party all the bars on the beach make their own party. Each one playing a different music style. Walking from one side of the beach to the other during a Full Moon party night you are sure to find the music that your are into. Tommy beach club, one of the first to initiate party on the Full Moon has 2 stages. At the main stage DJ Graham Gold (The legendary) is the resident mixing House and Dance beats and at the other stage there is Dark and Psy Trance being played. Paradise (Apperently where it all started) and The Rock, 2 different party spots at the other side of the beach playing House music as well. The specific style played will depend on the Line up and DJs for that night. Most of them though, during the Full Moon night will choose to play the more communicative commercial House style fitting to the ears of the youngsters who are the main crowd during this night.

Eventually on Koh Phangan there is party running almost every night in addition to the nightly parties on Haad Rin beach. All you need  to do is to check the advertisement on the roads, the flyers at the Seven Eleven stores and of course the Phanganist event list which gathers all the information, dates, locations or all other information that you might need.
