A big part of the island is a national park area, so rent a scooter and explore all the waterfalls, beaches and forests Koh Phangan has to offer! If you´re lucky, you can get a scooter for 150 Baht, but usually, they start with 250 Baht for 24 hours. Once you get away from the main road, the beautiful nature will blow you away. Driving through the scenery of palm trees and rain forest as far as the eye can reach gives you a feeling of freedom and peace.
One beach that you can easily reach by scooter is the Haad Than Sadet beach in the east of the island. Usually, there are not a lot of tourists, so you can get a nice rest and enjoy a tasty meal or fresh drink in one of the cute restaurants with a wonderful view of the sea. The waves can get big and the sand is coarse, but that's what brings a natural wild atmosphere to one of Koh Phangan’s most beautiful beaches.
Besides that, you can visit some nice waterfalls on the way. The Than Sadet Waterfall, as well as the Sampan Waterfall, is just five minutes walking from the street.
