Sometimes you go to a restaurant and the food is almost an irrelevance. That’s almost been the case every time I set foot in Proper Restaurant.
I mean, I sure come there to get myself a Proper Fish and Chips dish and I also always do.
- and it’s awesome of course. Just like the Fish and Chips I miss from home. .. and the chips of course .. which our dear Joe made sure was REAL chips. Cut with the right machinery and all.
Talking about Joe.. - the thing is, that every time I have been there, it’s been Super Jim & Joe entertainmentz! - and with them of course a sweet crew of friends and family. Not to speak about the Lovely Waitress that has been Joe’s sweetheart for a while now. Among that - and a Pool table .. it’s been very entertaining! Sing a long and little Tammy Jamming with Joe - if not Simone on a Drunken Shiva Moon ..
The Fish and Chips is very homey and just like you remember. It’s good. Not too fatty, crispy, crunchy and Yeee .. served with special Mayo Dip .. Recipe not fully clear, but very yummy.. This “reporter” is a very bad food review, ‘cause I liked the Fish and Chips so much that I never got to try any other yet. The days WILL come though. Mmm … The Orange and Vodka drinks have been good too. Prices Proper!
Richie the owner says that no one around Ban Tai really has Proper Fish and Chips and it is surely something that you will miss from home. Make a simple quick snack for the people. The next food idea for his restaurant is to make a Proper Breakfast Brunch.
After all these years of watching all the drunken farrangs coming home late from party and being hungry at 2 when all breakfasts normally are over, The Fish and Chips owner also thought to make a late breakfast place. Just the simple American, English Breakfast style. That will be the next project and the sign of course. A good idea with a fish bone sign. All this is to come.
Having SP, Hansa Resort and Ban Sabaii next door also makes good friends. That makes the restaurant a cosy family hangout as well.
