- Koh Tao
By the start of July 2013 Randy will be heading back to homelands N. America for a huge Las Vegas show…
The excitement is building on two continents. ROAR says the Jungle flyer, and on his FB status the engaging and genuine Randy Seidman sounds as excited as we are: 'So excited! Taking off tomorrow for another Asia adventure - can't wait to be back in Thailand for Full Moon in the Jungle!' Randy Seidman, 10/06.
HOLLYWOOD to JUNGLE EXPERIENCE to LAS VEGAS… Now that is something to roar about! Randy is a true gentleman, and has a very generous nature for a star who has spent the last seven years touring with the iconic act Infected Mushroom:
"Thank you so much for another great opportunity, I feel like Koh Phangan is my second home. It's my third visit to Koh Phangan (he headlined at Jungle Experience in Aug and Dec 2012), but technically this time around will be my 4th & 5th Jungle parties, as I did two on my last visit around Christmas time.
Randy Seidman has a special energy about him, touched simultaneously by greatness and humility, he says he is 'humbled' by his opportunities at the same time as sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the business. He has 'been with' - managed and toured with - INFECTED MUSHROOM since 2007, playing over 250 shows around the world with them.
And this is where Randy's connection to the Jungle really takes root, and echoes back to the past when Jungle Experience was still a trance party, and the likes of Infected Mushroom at that time were the be-all and end-all of the psy trance scene.
Years later, with the Jungle Experience itself mushrooming into an Underground Full Moon phenomenon, Jungle is honoured to welcome international superstars to its parties, and none receives a more excited welcome than Randy Seidman and his infectious musical energy!
"I have to give a lot of credit to my friend of many years, the talented Jourdan Bordes. Before my first ever trip to Thailand I thought it would be worth it to send Jourdan a late night message inquiring if he had any Thai connections (I had heard at the time he recently moved out there). I was prepared for a simple relaxing vacation, and had no expectations to play. Fortunately for me, Jourdan's generosity & passion sparked a fire for me in this new market. I am so grateful to him for the people I have met and experiences I have had."
And now, what joy of joys! Randy Seidman is a regular visitor to Koh Phangan's leading Underground progressive and tech house party, having made three appearances within the last year … and another two coming up in the Full Moon festivities of June 2013. Randy's feelings towards the Jungle - which has been called the best party in SE Asia by DJs in the know - are mutual:
Besides the beautiful / inspirational scenery & beaches on Koh Phangan, I've found that the parties are second to none, and the people are beyond generous. The vibe is amazing, travelers come from all over the planet to have the time of their lives, so as a DJ I really 'feel the love' when I play.
Specifically, Jungle is one of the only massive parties on the planet that triumphs quality underground music -- and it's raging.
This gives me hope for a world full of pop-electronica. When I leave Koh Phangan each time, I feel a new lease on life, and a desire to return as soon possible - to be connected with the island. Fortunately, I have plans to come back at least once more later this year!
"This visit I plan to make the most of my time! I'm starting off with shows in Malaysia on the 14th and 15th (Quinte KL & Sabah), then heading to Phangan on the 17th to get ready for my first Thai show of the tour at Jungle on the 19th. After that, I have Castle in Koh Tao on the 20th, Jungle again for the Full Moon warm-up on the 22nd, then Fusion in Koh Samui on the 24th. After that, I head back to the states to get ready for a big headlining show in Las Vegas - at a club called Marquee (number 11 in the world)."
"Since my last visit to Koh Phangan, I've been spending my time trying to figure out how to come back! Haha just kidding (kind of). But seriously, I've been very lucky this past year, have been able to tour across North and South America - played many amazing shows. I've also been heavily focused on music production. My recent downtempo EP with Infected Mushroom's guitarist, Tommy Cunningham, hit #2 on the Beatport Chill Out Top 10."
Infected Mushroom, the 'Fathers of Psy' themselves hold Randy Seidman in very high esteem, naming him Breakthrough DJ/Producer of the Year in the prestigious DJ Mag Top 100 Poll. Their own musical style has evolved over the years, as well as psy trance, Infected Mushroom now also play breaks, electro, and other genres: "They are into music that makes you MOVE", says Randy.
As is Randy Seidman! As well as concentrating on his DJing and Production, Randy's electronic music mix show 'Open House', a popular podcast 'featuring the grooviest deep, tech and progressive from around the world', has reached over 80,000 downloads.
So what style, what vibe is he intending to bring to Jungle Experience this time?
"I like starting off my set with tech house, and progressing to a more chugging progressive sound. The crowd at this party is super positive, so I'm looking forward to feeding off that energy. The goal is for people to leave Jungle thinking, 'Wow, I didn't realize this is what electronic music could be!' "
As his bio states:
Randy pursues his craft with exuberant devotion: a desire for the party, for the sound, and for the beauty of progressive dance music.... His dedication for playing quality and time-appropriate music has created a demand for Randy that he is humbled to meet.
