The iconic Khao San Road in Bangkok will reopen for trade with more manufacturers and promotional activities lined up to draw local audiences. After the Covid-19 pandemic forced border closures, Khao San Road, common with international visitors, has suffered one of its largest slumps.

City Hall has determined, with visitor arrivals down to none, that it would stimulate businesses along the route. According to Mr Sakoltee, above all, by drawing in Thais and expats. On Wednesday, the deputy governor of Bangkok chaired a meeting on plans to reopen street-side trade along the route, beginning either on 30 or 31 October.

He said international tourists make up 90 percent of Khao San Road guests as well. Local tourists will absorb them now that the recession is likely to begin, with international tourist figures showing no signs of recovery.

More vendors would be introduced to improve the attractiveness of Khao San Road and respond to local people's tastes and demands. To draw tourists to the path, promotional activities will be held every month.
