Koh Phangan is a beautiful natural island and this is one thing we are all currently learning, people will come for its untouched natural beauty. We are lucky that a huge percentage is protected national park and in these different times, many locals have gone back to their roots with gardens, farming, and more environmentally sustainable activities which can also be marketed as attractions to visitors to help the economy.

Ecotourism is becoming a must for a changing and evolving environment and the need to preserve our earth. 

Ecotourism may be defined as "ethical travel to natural areas preserving the climate, fostering the well-being of local communities, including interpretation and education." 

It is about building a balanced mix of conservation, local communities, and tourism.

Here are some Ecotourism attractions and activities the island has on offer.

Organic Honey Farm
Honey farm Koh Phangan is the farm of Phangan farm stays Eco organic farming.
They grow organic fruit, vegetable, and herbs. The honey farm is pure and produces raw organic natural honey, honey Comb, bee pollen, and wax.

Phangan Community Garden
Phangan Community Garden ไร่วิถีพงัน [pronounced “Rai Witi Phangan”] is a community co-operative farm growing food for people in need on Koh Phangan.
The idea is that everyone works together to create this sustainable place to grow food and share the produce.

LABracadabra
LABracadabra is a Crafts, Movement, and Sustainability Artspace nestled in the coconut groves of Koh Phangan, Thailand. They are doers who grow towards sustainability on a journey to zero waste. They reduce, reuse, recycle, and upcycle as an art of living.

Unpacked
They offer refills on most of their products, to save you money and preserve the beauty and health of our planet by reducing plastic waste. All products have been tested by them and are made on the island.

Tan the Honey Man
Tan the Honey Man has done this for all of his life and was born on Koh Phangan.
They have lots of different fruit trees like mango, coconut, and rambutan which the bees love and this makes the honey so beautiful.

Eco Thailand
EcoThailand (นิเวศวิถี) is a not for profit NGO, with Foundation status (Thai Registration 9/2560) based in Surat Thani province, Thailand. Their objectives are focused on environmental education, awareness, communication, coordination, and practical improvement of the tidal beachfront and inland waterways of both the mainland province and the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao.

CORE sea
Together with trained scientists, local expertise, and volunteers they develop and apply scientifically proven best practices for marine conservation and educate key communities about existing solutions. They are open to guest researchers, and internships.

Clean Phangan
A team of Koh Phangan Eco Volunteers. Their goal is to clear the island of garbage, cleans are every Tuesday.
