Phangan is a Trance island. The Full Moon party started out with just the Trance family and although now there is more diversity with the music on the island, the Trance scene and family are still going strong.
Trance is more than just music, some see it as a way of life and this includes clothes.
Trance wear is greatly inspired by nature and we have come up with a few places for you to find beautiful Trance clothing if you fancy ‘getting ya Trance on’!
Kurage Eye
Kurage Eye is brought to you by Nurika the sweet owner of this brand and shop. she is a fashion designer and every year she leaves for Bali to buy new materials and begin next year’s collection. She makes every year a new collection, that she designs herself. Very recently she has opened her own shop in Ban Tai where you can find her beautiful designs.
Moontribe Progressive Fashion
Moontribe Progressive Fashion is owned and managed by European couple Sandra and Jo (aka DJ Jo Moontribe), who have been living on the Island for many years.
Since the last few years they order, import and retail high quality clothing to offer their customers a wide selection of original designs by renowned western brands, most of which are found in Thailand exclusively at Moontribe Progressive Fashion. They have two shops, one in Ban Tai and a newly opened store in Thong Sala.
Psy Alien Shop
Located opposite Makro on the way to Thong Sala, you cannot miss this shop! It is a great shop with many different clothes and accessories and multi shops around Koh Phangan.
You can find psychedelic clothing, uv active art and psy accessories here.
Lek Art
Lek art has a shop in Thong Sala, it is a mixture of ethnic and contemporary design and an unusual multicultural workshop.
They also have clothing brands such as Liloo Wear, WD Revolution, Kiriwong and some Khattaya as well (see below).
Khattaya
Katai and David are famous on Phangan for their designs.
Since October 2009 Khattaya design has developed their style and quality on Phangan and today they have reached a point where the Khattaya Shop is a ‘must see’ on Koh Phangan for any tourists on a shopping spree. Their style is a mix between gypsy, vintage, happy hippie & little punk.
Wherever you go to party on Phangan you will meet at least one - if not more - wearing a Khattaya Design.
The shop is located in Ban Tai close to Fishermans restaurant.
The Atman Project - Chalimars
The lovely Qcumber started the clothes brand three years ago, she explains ‘I like that more tribal, sexy style and have been to sell some in Europe at festivals. It’s kind of vintage gypsy, I like it when clothes look old, they have feeling and a story. I describe it as funky punky, it’s unique. Bohemian gypsy is the style I love and I shall continue doing clothes with people in India and North of Thailand’.
A little bit more soft and delicate than more common Trance wear, the clothes still fit right in to the Trance style if you want something a bit more feminine. The Atman Project have a shop in Sri Thanu.
