DJ Cortex Organic Music on Phangan

DJ CORTEX

Cortex is a young French artist only 26 years old.

He musical style is what you would call organic.

His Label "Sound in Motion" is popular through out most of Europe and since 2011 he has been organizing the famous "Sound in Motion" evenings, which are very well known in the South French area where he began his Carrier!
 

John Cortex became very early facinated with music – since his own father was also a DJ.

Cortex spend a lot of time in his younger years observing this skill  and after some time he began to DJ himself.
Beat by Beat this developed into a musical agenda on every evening in Southern France where he grew up.

His music is powerful, dynamic and sophisticated. It draws strength from a variety of genres and eras.
He doesnt mind if he is playing in front of a 1000 people or 300, it is the energy that emanate from each evening that is important.
 

What is your Koh Phangan story?
I came last year to discover the island and came back this year determined to stay here ;)
 

What is your connection to the scene here?
I came to join my friend Fabrice "PHB" with whom I was already working with on a music festival in France.
 

You played in Sramanora Waterfall party – how did you like that?
I took a real pleasure to play in "Sramanora Waterfall party" !
Good sound system, good djs and a happy people :)

I'm more focused about Techno, Minimal and Tech House from Germany, Italy or Spain. (Europe)
It has now been 10 years since I began as a dj and I have gained good experience in the matter and I want to come and share my music on the stages of Koh Phangan :)
 

Do you have other plans to play on Phangan now or in the future?
Yes, I think I will continue to play "Waterfall Sramanora party" !

I hope to introduce my music to the people of the island and then I will see later if a new plan will emerge to me :)
 

Cortex will also be playing at the Full Moon After Party in the Wicked Oldschool Venue Back Yard on NOV 18. 
 

I organized many parties in the south of France and brought many artists from all over Europe, such as Marco Bailey, Microtrauma, oxia, Worakls, Ron Costa and many others !!
 

Do you find Koh Phangan to be a good place for your music?
Yes, I think so!
Koh Phangan is a great place for my music!  I look forward to share my music to a large number of Phangan people!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
We never know what life holds for us ;)
 

What is your life philosophy?
To enjoy music and share it with everyone!
