Think Koh Phangan will be quiet whilst there is no Full Moon Party?! Think again! Here’s some ideas on what you can do between now and the next Full Moon…
International Yoga Day at Agama on Wednesday 21st June
On Wednesday 21 June, you are invited to the beautiful Agama Yoga campus in Sri Thanu, Koh Phangan to join in a day of celebrating Union, or Yoga in Sanskrit. On this special day, the school’s campus will be open for events that honor the union of individual Consciousness with universal Consciousness and that represent a holistic approach to health - finding a perfect harmony between mind & body, human being & nature. All events are free and open to the entire community so you can go and check out why Koh Phangan is becoming more well known for its Yoga scene and get involved yourself.
Friday 23rd June Bass Night at Phanganist & Blackmoon Culture
Here at Phanganist we bring you the unheard sounds of Phangan with our weekly Bass Night!
This week we’ve got Dubstep from Kotch then Bassline House and DnB from DJ Snake and Off Grid till late. Plus it’s some good Phangan friends birthdays so it’s a double celebration!
After this if you fancy partying till sunrise then head down to Blackmoon Culture for a Trance fix, located on the beach in Baan Tai it is a beautiful party with nice vibes.
Every Saturday in Thong Sala at Walking/Chinese Street is the market. A traditional market ran just by the Thai community selling all sorts of things from gits, clothes and obviously food, no market would be right without food! The market starts at 4pm and runs till around 10pm and it is a great way to spend a Saturday evening.
Into Sunday and you can relax all day at one of the beautiful beaches or maybe take a trip to Paradise Waterfall before heading out to the famous floating party of Loi Lay, this also happens weekly every Sunday!
Loi Lay is on the water off from Baan Tai Pier and attracts many locals as well as tourists as it is a more smaller venue but with amazing quality music from international DJs as well as resident Darragh Casey. We are always there taking photos on a Sunday so be sure to come see us!
On to Monday again and why not take a tour around the island or go and visit Angthong Marine Park, a beautiful archipelago of islands which are protected, there you can see the stunning emerald lake and kayak or swim in the turquoise ocean just a boat ride away from Koh Phangan.
In terms of Parties this week you can look forward to another Friday Bass Night at Phanganist and of course Loi Lay plus others you can find on our events listings.
The next week will be the start of the big ones again! Waterfall Party happens 2 days before Full Moon on June 7th, set in a wonderful location with its own waterfall of course.
Jungle Experience is one day before and expect freaky creatures, live art, exotic dancers and the best in Underground House Music.
Then it is Full Moon on June 9th! Be sure to come warm up with us at Phanganist Hostel before heading to Haad Rin Beach for the epic party and the original Full Moon Bar Drop In where we’ll party till sunrise!
Again, in between all these parties make sure to travel the island, visit new places, find the secret beaches and get involved with all the activities here. From water sports like kitesurfing and stand up paddle board to yoga, diving, dancing, sunset watching, meditation and of course some hammock time, Koh Phangan is more than just a party island.
