DJ Sebastian Mullaert!The Dance floor was full all night and the crowd was Tech House’ing it to the beats from the spinning decks.
Sebastian played a very late night set or very early morning mix for a rising sun with absolutely sweet tones.
The Jungle Experience was a blasting night with great names like Marco Loco, Marcus & Empro and Sebastian Mullaert himself.
We asked Sebastian before he came about his expectations before he was to play in the Jungle and he replied that he tried not to expect anything.
He said; in music and in dance I feel a great opportunity to just let go and let the experience take over ... expecting things is rather the opposite :)
We also asked him what he feels that he brings to the Jungle Experience and the very modest Sebastian replies that all he can bring is his presence and his Music !!

He says further; “and the music I play - I play because I see it as a wonderful gate into that presence to dance in that music.”
They have together released very popular productions on renowned labels as Traum, Crosstown Rebels or Wagon Repair.
Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson met in a Club at the right time, but emerged from very different back grounds!
For Sebastian Mullaert music was always an active part of his Life!
From the beginning Sebastian was introduced to a wide range of classical instruments and in his Teens he worked as a violin teacher! When he was 18 he joined a band!
Marcus used to listen to Front 242 and Kraftwerk before he started to organize parties of his own and became a well known DJ in the south of Sweden.
When Sebastian met Marcus, they connected fast and in 1997 they began their adventures.
With Sebastian's formal knowledge and Marcus Club Experiences, the two of them created a good Team!
In the Trance Scene they became very successful as Son Kite and Trimatic, playing Live sets all over the world.
With Minilogue they leave the boundaries of the Trance genre - and actually of any genre.
The boys dont stick to any genre and has been covering both House, Techno, Ambient, Trance and lately also Jazz has been on their menu.
The Jazz infused album „Bring out the Imps“ was recorded with two jazz musicians in collaboration with the Japanese Producer Kuniyuki.
The best proof of their musical universalism was maybe in 2008 with the release of their debut album „Animals““ on Cocoon.
Sebastian and Marcus are Swedish boyz and they still feel very strongly about Malmö being their musical home.
Malmö has always been a very important Base for the Underground Dance music scene in Sweden.
Malmo is not the Capital of Sweden and is located in the very South of Sweden, just before the boarders to Denmark and Germany.
Somehow this place kept the Underground feel while the capital Stockholm is full of the latest Trends and weekly Hits!
"Privatly they formed themself a life far beyond the big city lights, out in the Swedish woods in the north of Malmö. Here they live a life where the inner gets the outer and where their way of creating is far away from Zeitgeist zones in which musical trends pass by like seasons." says the press text for their new album "Blomma".
Phanganist found Sebastian when he was here and asked him a few questions about his Koh Phangan Experience!

Which music did you bring in your record bag for Phangan?
"I never know exactly what to play but lately I've been playing a lot of different improvisations from Minilogue and other collaborations I'm part of.
Hypnotic, deep, emotional."
What do you hope to bring with you back from this tour?
"The presence! nothing and everything or everything in the nothing or nothing in everything."
What are your next projects?
" I'm just now releasing a new album with Minilogue on Cocoon. The album is called "Blomma" and there will be a long album tour the rest of 2013."
The album title has a deeper meaning to the two boys.
The Swedish word „blomma“ has two meanings in one: to bloom and the flower.
The flower and the blooming are deeply tied to each other - as for Minilogue the process of making music and the temporary result of the process is one too, the album title matches perfectly with their aim of beeing aimless.
All eight tracks underpin the wisdom that says that in the moment of deep creativity you disappear. Because no ego can be heard and all grooves, melodies, field-recordings, samples, and chords work like a single colour of a musical painting that is full of versatile electric elements und unnatural sounds. Sounds that only evolve if those who create them are far away from knowing that they create. A state of mind that Minilogue bound on a double album that is just there to let the music speak.
When asked how he believes he got to where he is today he replies that he tries not to think about WHY he is in a certain situation.
He feels this is just speculations and thoughts who distracts one from being alive!
"I try to accept and live the circumstance I'm in, each and every thing that happens is the gift of the presence, shining like a star.
Be grateful to what is, that's everything."
