What is your Koh Phangan story?
I came to Koh Phangan for a visit 7 years ago and fell in love with the island.
When back to my American life in Las Vegas, sold my house, car, quit my job, pack all my stuff to ship to Thailand and move to Phangan in 2006.
I own and used to own many businesses on the island. Right now it’s just down to simple life.
What is your connection to the Parties here?
Used to be part of the parties but these days I’m just another party goer and I DJ every now and then.
What is the best thing you ever been involved with or done?
I started 1st bikini contest on Koh Phangan in Haad Rin when I used to own Glacier club back in March 2009.
The event take on and now has become part of Haad Rin New Year’s count down event. I also started an annual kitesurfing competition for the past 3 years, which introduce this new exciting sport along with promoting Koh Phangan to be Thailand famous kite spot.
Tell us a bit about the bikini contests?
This will be my 6th on that I either organize or be part of it.
I organize Ms Haad Rin bikini contest at the end of the year and Splash bikini contest that held in a private resort back in 2012.
Do you find Koh Phangan to be a good place for you? – and your projects?
Koh Phangan attracts a lot of young tourists. Most of them comes here for the parties.
Ms Haad Rin bikini contest 2014 is not just about sexy girls on the stage.
We also featuring live performances from DJs, musical artist along with Thai traditional show and a Muay Thai demonstration.
We had a great turn out last year and every one enjoyed the event. This year will be bigger and better!
Where is your favourite place here?
I love all the beaches, each one has something special about it.
But my favourite beach has to be Haad Yao since it’s the reason why I fell in love with this island.
What are your next projects?
I am organizing a Historical Kite Enduro 2014 from Haad Rin, Koh Phangan to Anthong Marine National park. The distance with be 50k.
Kitesurfers will be riding their kites to the national park and spectator can join on the boats. One night camping in a quiet nature with absolutely breath taking views at the park then a boat ride back to Phangan.
Do you see yourself, still - making business, creating projects, Djing or just enjoying relaxing time on Phangan in 10 years from now?
I do not see any other place I rather be. I call Koh Phangan, my home, my paradise and my love.
How did you get so far? What is your life philosophy?
I believe in work hard but enjoy what you do.
I am passionate about everything I do and try my best at it.
Eventually other people will recognized your dedication and they will want to include you to their projects or help out with your projects.
