Thailand is looking to get access to a Covid-19 vaccine candidate that Oxford University is currently developing. That partnership hopefully would award with Vaccine technology transfer and development rights for local production to the Southeast Asian country.
"We're finalizing our letter of intent to work with the Oxford Vaccine Testing Team," said Minister of Health Anutin Charnvirakul on Friday. "I'll sign it directly after the process is through."
According to the Ministry of Health, Vaccine technology transfer is one of three routes for Thailand to progress in finding solutions.
The country's vaccine research program is scheduled to begin human trials in September.
Another route is buying vaccinations through the Covax program early next month created by a group comprising Gavi for the Vaccine Alliance for the World Health Organization.
