In Loving Memory of Phra Olarn Thanawuttho
Phra Olarn Thanawuttho, formerly the owner of Loyfa Natural Resort, dedicated his life to Buddhism and guiding others on their spiritual journeys. Born in 1971 on the serene island of Koh Phangan, he left behind the material world after years of running a business in Switzerland. Embracing monkhood at Wat Samai Kongkha, one of the island’s oldest temples, he found his purpose in spreading wisdom and peace.
Phra Olarn believed in the simplicity of life, mindfulness, and inner happiness. He shared profound teachings, including walking meditation, to help others find clarity and balance. His gentle guidance inspired many to reconnect with themselves and live harmoniously in the present.
A fluent speaker of Thai, English, and German, he welcomed people from all walks of life and religions to learn and grow. He often reminded us that “happiness is inside” and encouraged living minimally, focusing on relationships, and fostering peace within.
Phra Olarn’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched. May his teachings and spirit continue to guide us toward a more meaningful and mindful life.
Rest in peace, Phra Olarn. Your light shines on.
A person’s true mark is not in the footprints they leave on familiar ground, but in how they shape the places they touch—turning empty spaces into paths for others to follow. When someone departs, the measure of their presence lies in the subtle ways the world feels different, softer, and more alive because they were there.
