Next month, people do not chuck or shoot water into each other. Thailand 's New Year Celebrations – Songkran – have been widely thought to be moved from April to July, but a 3-day soaking wet holiday may not happen until later this year. The major water festivities may also be split to be conducted on non-consecutive days, according to a government document.

Many companies and schools are still merely opening up and adjusting to "new normal" regulations. PM Prayuth Chan-o-cha said a long vacation would not be suitable for government agencies needing to stay at work. He said the holiday should be rescheduled at various days, instead of holding a 3-day event.

The cabinet has approved wo holidays, Asanha Bucha and the Buddhist Lent for a long weekend on 4-7 July. Culture minister Itthiphol Kunplome claimed during the meeting that Songkran could happen in August or September.

The Songkran, three day holiday, has yet to arrive. The PM wishes to see the Covid-19 situation assessment first and will consider other recovery projects.
