TAT announced that the Bangkok Art Biennale will be conducted under the "Escape Route" concept and will function as a forum for leading Thai and international artists to display their contemporary artwork.
The BAB 2020 seeks to lift the role of Bangkok as the hub for contemporary arts. It is also targeted at helping to raise revenue for the Thai economy and at growing the importance of cultural tourism.

BAB covers a 4-month duration in which Bangkok 's busy city is turned into a live platform showcasing art, innovation, and culture.
Throughout the center of Bangkok, throughout exhibitions, public areas, and famous sites, tourists will immerse themselves in a selection of artworks and events by a wide range of performers, both local and foreign.
