On 15 May 2020, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha released a regulation loosening further constraints on the conduct of such companies and operations, although the country's latest COVID-19 cases have deteriorated.
The second step of calming steps will fall into force from May 17, 2020. It was issued in accordance with Section 9 of the 2005 Emergency Decree on Public Administration in emergency situations. The following industries and activities are allowed to resume operations under this Regulation.
1. Activities surrounding environment and way of life
(A) Sales of food or drinks in restaurants, restaurants, cafeterias and general restaurants, excluding entertainment venues, pubs, and bars;
(B) Department stores, shopping malls and/or community malls, except for cinemas, bowling alleys, and amusement parks;
(C) large discount and wholesale department stores;
(D) child care and senior care centers;
(E) Film crew to start production, with no more than 50 people from all sections in the filming studio and no spectators;
(F) Hotel meeting rooms and convention halls for a limited number of individuals.
2. Exercising or health care
(A) Clinics for beauty;
(B) wellness facilities not located in department stores, shopping complexes, or regional shopping malls;
(C) Indoor sporting arenas with just three players on one squad and no fans, such as badminton, table tennis, takraw, squash, gymnastics and fencing;
(D) public swimming pools, outdoor and indoor;
(E) Botanical gardens, museums, centers of learning, historical sites, public libraries, galleries;
Beauty clinics are one of the services where reopening is allowed. But some facilities for natural hair, weight loss centers, tattoo stores, body modification stores, and massage parlors are also closed.
