You Can choose between different options about how to get to Koh Phangan. You might prefer riding a bus, a train to Surat Thani or fly to the neighbor island Koh Samui or to Surat Thani on the main land and take a ferry from there to Koh Phangan. But, these verity options are valid only in case you not choose to get to Koh Phangan with a car.

Decision to arrive to Koh Phangan with a vehicle will narrow your options to few.

Surat Thani – Koh Phangan

There is only one company, Raja Ferry that delivers vehicles from Surat Thani to Koh Phangan. The ferry does not use the pier inside Surat Thani. This pier is small and serves only the small night boat. The ferry use Donsak pier, about one hour driving distance from Surat Thani. During the day, there are five ferries for each direction.

From Surat Thani (Donsak) to Koh Phangan (Thong Sala)

It’s highly recommended to arrive to Donsak pier at least 2 hours before departure in order to add your vehicle to the waiting list. In most cases the early ferries are more crowded and if you desire to enter one of these better you get there s early as possible.

As for now, there is no possibility to certify a place for your car on the ferry without getting there with the car.

Koh Samui – Koh Phangan

Also this service is supported by Raja ferry. During most of the year, this route is not active, and usually it’s become active during the high season. When it is active there is one ferry for each direction during the day.

Do not forget to verify in advance that this route is active before getting there.

In case there Koh Samui Koh Phangan ferry line is not available, the only way to deliver a car from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan is via Surat Thani.

There is a ferry available every one hour from Koh Samui to Surat Thani and back starting 5am. Travel on the sea time is one hour and a half and its better get to the road as early as possible for better chances to arrive to Koh Phangan on the same day.
