The weekend is looming and will come around very quickly. This month the Full Moon Party lands on a Sunday so you can expect the days leading up to it and the days after to be full of party shenanigans and events as well.

You’re either on your way or already here, hopefully you’ve booked your accomodation or if not, you find somewhere because it gets pretty booked up around this time of the month!

It’s a big week for us at Phanganist as we are celebrating our 7th anniversary on Wednesday with a special party and live show at the hostel, make sure to get your tickets!

Job2do will play, one of Thailand’s most famous bands so you can warm up early for the weekend with us!

If you’re going to experience the Koh Phangan party circuit you should try to prepare yourselves so you have the energy and stamina to keep up!

Make sure to drink plenty of water, drink a pint in between alcoholic beverages so as to not get dehydrated and this will help prevent you waking up with a stinking headache the next day which will get in the way of the next party!

On Thursday you have the choice of either Backyard’s special event or Psy Trance at Shiva Moon, both known to be full power music and dancing, but one Trance and one House/Techno.

Be sure to fill up with food, preferably some of it healthy to get those nutrients to keep you dancing! A lot of Thai food is cheap and healthy especially more towards the papaya salads or coconut curries. Skipping food whilst partying is not recommended, you can always grab something in between dance moves if needed as most venues have food stands or are close to local restaurants.

On to Friday and here at Phanganist Hostel we have our weekly Drum and Bass night up to 1am and then you can go on to Waterfall Party if you wish and dance until the sun comes up!

If you’re partying with friends or new pals that you have met then be a good samaritan and look out for each other. It can be a daunting place when you don’t know anyone and are out of your comfort zone so make sure you’re all on form because it’s going to be a long night!

On to Saturday and you may be wearing out, it’s not even been Full Moon yet! We did warn you that this is one full on week of partying!

You don’t want to miss Jungle Experience though which happens the night before but the great thing about this party is that there is lots to see and admire so maybe don’t go mad on the buckets, instead you can be in awe of the beautiful fire show, unique dancers and costumes, live painting and incredible decor at this beautiful event without having the hangover to match the next day of Full Moon!

Sunday has arrived and you may already feel a bit partied out...

Have a nice relaxing day on the beach or by the pool and let yourself recuperate and build up energy so you can experience fully the amazing event which is the Full Moon Party!

Pace yourself, don’t go too mad too quickly as you’ll want to party through to morning and gaze at the glorious sunrise on Haad Rin beach, trust us, it is beautiful to watch.

Thousands of people pack on to the beach, drink lots of water in between and stop for food so you can party in quality style without passing out like so many people do!

We would recommend staying a few days after Full Moon, this way you can recharge and enjoy the island at a little quieter faze as a lot of people actually leave straight away. Charge up those batteries before heading off on long journeys, there’s no better place to do it…

After Full Moon you can still enjoy parties if you want, Waterfall Party is also two days after Full Moon and Loi Lay is every Sunday.

Our best advice is to not be totally drunk for the whole of your time on this beautiful island, it is wasted with a constant hangover and you won’t have the amazing time you should. It’s all about balance, drinks loads of water, eat lots of food, pace yourself with drinks and look out for each other. Remember, Koh Phangan is more than just a Full Moon Party...
