The Royal Cremation Ceremony for His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej, taking place on Thursday, 26 October 2017.

The People of Koh Phangan are thankful for our friends coming to pass on their condolences. This gesture of empathy and friendship will be remembered by the people of Thailand for decades to come.

A total of 85 replicas of the Royal Crematorium have been constructed nationwide. Wat Rat Chareon Temple located near Thong Sala area is Koh Phangan's designated site for the replica and floral niches where members of the public will be able to present sandalwood flowers as a final tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol.

In order to facilitate the travel of people who wish to attend the Royal Cremation there are designated public parking areas for 4-wheel vehicles and free transport services on 26 October are as per the following areas: District Office of Koh Phangan (on the way to Maduea Wan), Koh Phangan school (on the way to Ban Tai) and Koh Phangan Battleship area; motorbike parking will be provided opposite public crematory at Wat Rat Chareon.

• Please bring your passport and ID card to attend the ceremony.

• Solemnity of the Royal Cremation is observed.

• Conducting any inappropriate or disrespectful behavior are refrained.

• Photography is not allowed.

• Visitors are also advised to check any local media regularly for the official announcements and updates from the local authorities.
