As 2016 comes to a close, we would like to wish everyone a very happy new year!
Here at Phanganist we are reflecting on the year gone by and the one ahead. We speak to some of our guests at Phanganist Hostel to find out their highlights of 2016 and what they are looking forward to, as well as their resolutions are for 2017…..
Nick from Denmark….
Highlight - “6 month trip around Asia - Bali, Laoes, Vietnam and Thailand, now it’s month 6, it’s been a nice time”
Looking forward to - “Going back to Denmark with my girlfriend and looking for an apartment, a new job, a new beginning”
Resolution? “Be more happy”
Dan from Leeds….
Highlight - “Going to Dub Camp festival in france in June with my friends Nick, George and Greg”
Looking forward to - “The rest of my trip in Thailand then in March going to California to rent an RV and do a tour with my friends”
Resolutions? “Travel to more of the places I want to go to, Japan, South America and more of the U.S.A”

Highlight - “Going on holiday to Sweden - lots of Swedish people!”
Looking forward to - “Moving out from home and buying my first house”!
Resolution? “Stop smoking and be happier”

Highlight - “Jogging across the San Francisco bridge and travelling alone for the first time
Looking forward to - “Continuing what I’m doing, I haven’t planned any more travels but I want to do the same as last year - keep it spontaneous, keep it loose and meet great people”!
Resolutions? “to run tough mudder”!

Highlight - “won a firefighting competition! In Austria these are a big thing, every town has a team and they do competitions to see who is faster and so on”
Looking forward to - “same as last year and I’d like a free holiday”!
Resolutions? “don’t have any”
Bridget from Austria…
Highlight - “my sister’s wedding… definitely a highlight! She’s ten years older than me. We are five siblings all together and she was the first one to get married. Quite a big thing”!
Looking forward to - “continue enjoying life and more travelling hopefully”
Resolutions? “last year my resolution was to learn guitar and I didn’t hold a guitar in my hand the whole year! This year I’d like to learn how to do the fire spinning - minus the fire. Hopefully I’ll do better than last year”!
We wish you a great NYE wherever you are, whether you're dancing all night at the full moon party or doing something low-key with friends... Here's to a wonderful 2017!
