As posted by Koh Phangan Hospital there are measures being taken on the island to limit the spread of the virus.
Every person is being screened at the pier on entry and exit.
If you show a temperature that states a fever then the hospital will investigate the disease.
All foreigners are having their passport checked and if you entered the Country within 14 days. The Risky 4 COUNTRIES ARE CHINA, South Korea, Iran, Italy (more may have been added). These visitors will be in quarantine for 14 days.
If it is other risky countries, the name of accommodation is noted and you will be checked every day until 14 days to make sure that there is no disease. We measure the temperature before getting on the boat.
Many businesses are closed such as entertainment venues, bars and places where crowds usually gather. Elsewhere steps are being taken such as temperature upon entry and staff are following hygiene rules and so should customers.
They ask anyone who deals with a house for rent, resorts, hotels or other public accomodation to screen guests such as is being done at the pier and to take care of anyone. The risks are a Fever (37.5) with a cough, sore throat and from the most at risk Countries. We need to inform the staff for 24 hours.
