On Sunday 23rd February the Red Cross of Koh Phangan have organised a Blood Donation day. In particular they are always in desperate need of Negative blood types however people with all different blood types are welcome to donate.
1 out of 7 Non-Thai people has Rh Negative Blood, 1 out of 33,300 of Thai has Rh Negative.
You can donate every 90 days. (Let the nationwide registry system manage this. If all RH negative donors donate today, there won't be anything for an emergency in 60 days from now).
You must be aged 17 to 70 however if it is your first time you must be under 55.
If you are on medication, almost all medications are OK. Medications do not automatically disqualify you.
But No Alcohol or Recreational Drugs for 24 hours before.
Donating your blood can save someone's life!
It is rumoured that you must have anything but a Tourist Visa (so Non-B, Non-O etc) but this might be worth checking
Please attend to give blood on the 23rd of February at the district office near the Koh Phangan Police Station from 8am - 3pm.
