What’s you Koh Phangan story?
I came seven years ago, I was in love with the island right away so now I’m back with my daughter to show her and meet all my friends from Germany and Denmark.
Is it nice to be here with your daughter?
It’s really nice, my daughter loves it too.
What’s your DJ history?
In 2002 I started with Novatekk records with an album called ‘Looppiter’. Then I had a club in Copenhagen for 7 years.
All the music then was psychedelic but now it’s more Tech House, Techno and Downbeat. I’d explain my style as Progressive Tech House.
What music do you produce?
I do Tech House and Downbeat, inspiration comes from life, just my head.
What do you think of the Phangan party and music scene?
I liked the big parties but now I like more small cosy ones, the hidden places.
Where have you played?
The whole of Europe, India and now Thailand. My biggest gig was Solar Eclipse Festival.
You’ll DJ for ‘A Night with Graham Gold’ this Wednesday, what will you do?
I’ll play from 8 - 11pm, I will create an ‘ass shaking dance to the beat’ atmosphere but not overdosed.
What’s the Berlin scene like?
I spent 10 years in Denmark and now I’m in Berlin, it’s really Tech House and a lot of Minimal.
Why does Berlin have such a good reputation for music?
Because it’s mixed up of people from all over the world, maybe ten percent are original Berliners, so the mix makes it more interesting.
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
I just sold my business so I just want to take one year out, after this I have no plans…
What do you enjoy to do on Phangan?
I go kite surfing if there is wind, overwise I’m just chilling and visiting friends.
Leave us with your ‘Music philosophy’?
No music is bad music.
