Hey Dimo so are you looking forward to coming to Koh Phangan?
I always look forward coming to Koh Phangan.

It’s my third time now on the island and it has been something special every time.

What kicked off your dj career?
Well, I basically always had a great passion for music since I was young. From early on I was digging for songs nobody else had, back at that time I listened to all kinds of genres. Over the years my passion for electronic music grew rapidly and at the age of sixteen I started to play at private parties.

In 2011 me and a friend started our own event in Hamburg, which basically was a very important step for me since it helped me do a lot of networking and meet all kinds of different artists and promoters.

I developed my sound and played quickly in all clubs in the city and started to play frequently in Berlin and throughout the country. This led to what I would say was the kick off of my dj career, moving to Berlin last year, joining the Heinz Music agency and playing as a resident dj at the Heinz Music label nights at Kater Blau.

What kind of scene would you say you're from and what styles do you play?
To describe a scene is always subjective and I don’t want to take anything away from anybody but I would say my heart belongs to the underground, where you really feel the vibes and people are letting themselves go and know what to expect from the party they are visiting.

The Berlin underground scene, even though I grew up in Hamburg really shaped my idea of music and was always a great inspiration. My main styles are Tech-House, Deep House and Techno.

What were your best gigs of 2015?
Playing at Kater Blau is always special. We had some really great parties there.

The Heinz Hopper Floor is my favorite floor with a really great sound system.

Other than that I really enjoyed playing at Ibiza and Koh Phangan for the first time.

You will play at Jungle Experience festival, what have you heard about it?
I visited the Jungle Experience when I was on Koh Phangan for the first time. It was really packed and a lot of people were having fun and enjoyed the music. Its really something special to play in the jungle in front of such a big crowd.

And what can we expect from your set there?
As my style is, the set will have a deep and dark touch with rolling baselines to push you forward and make you dance.

What are your main music projects for this year?
The focus is on producing. It’s a work in progress and it takes time to develop.

I’m working on my first release which maybe will be released later this year.

And what else do you enjoy in life when not producing or djing?
I love to do all kinds of things, I love to read, I hike, meet friends, do some boxing and lifting to stay fit and of course to enjoy some movie nights at home with good food on a free weekend.

Any advice for aspiring djs and producers?
Never give up, work hard, try to understand the music you're playing and be patient.

What is your music philosophy?
I truly try to understand my music and what music does. Being flexible and being able to read the mood of the audience and react to it, whether it is a warm, peak-time or after hour set.

Besides that it’s all about passion, if you love what you do and put your feelings in it, good things will come out.
