It’s that time again for Ninja News,
After Full Moon the island clears out and there are less parties, less people and everything slows down, ahhhh time to chill. By chill I mean we have been making a highlight reel of the most recent show at jungle experience and working overtime on our media. We spent the week catching up with some of our awesome and talented friends to help them with their projects. Speaking of projects, new stuff is happening right here in this article. Look for this weeks, question of the week after the news.
Last week we stopped over to do a video shoot with DJ Inner Forest and Hailey Sanura for Forest’s new track Wiggle Zone, needless to say…. There was a lot of wiggling. Here is some of the behind the scenes shots.
We had a blast, it’s our first blue screen video and I can’t wait to see it. I’ll put up the wiggle zone video as soon I get a copy. In the mean time you can check out DJ Inner forests page here and check out his soundcloud
Did you catch the video of the waterfall party I put up on wed? If not you can check it out here!
On the 9th Sky and I visited Shiva moon, before that the lovely and talented Sima came by to do our face paint for the show. If this girl looks familiar that’s because you have seen her before, she is one of the models and dancers from Jungle experience. Here she is, out of costume getting up on some sick art.
Follow Sima on FB to see more of her work: Facebook.com/kinnareedesigns Last Tuesday we were back at the jungle space for the weekly circus workshop. The classes are just starting to take off and still relatively small which means plenty of individual time for you with our instructors. It’s been nice to train with other creative types, looking forward to seeing you all next Tuesday at 4pm. Check out what we’ve been working on.
Question of the week!
How often do you guys get burned? (Asked by: Literally everyone who has ever talked to me after a show.)
Honestly less often then you might think for someone who’s job it is to play with fire. We do everything we can to reduce risk. For example we use fuels with a comparatively low burn temperature and flash point. This allows us to come into contact with props or fire with out serious injury as long as it is quick. You know like when kids pass their hand over a candle, same idea just more fire. Small burns do happen and serious burns are usually a result of poor equipment or trying to do a trick too fast or before proper drilling. Flaming props taping us are kind of ok, contact with metal on a prop or tangles resulting in a prop tying on the body are less ok. Thankfully contact with metal is minimal and usually not serious, and ties are exceedingly rare. Remember if you decide to try this at home, practice with out fire first. Work with a buddy, be sober while working with fire and practice proper fire safety.
How do you feel about the blog, anything you would like me to cover? Have a burning question inside of you and want to let out? Think it could be the next Question of the week? Drop a line in the comments, and let us know what’s up.
We are back at alcove 8:30pm Friday and Sunday, see you at the show!
