The owner of the shop is Akiko. She lived in Tokyo where she finished her studies and had her first experience as a manager at a fashion boutique. Having this role gave her the opportunity to have many influential encounters with top international designers were she got inspiration and more open mind about expanding her frontiers. After few months, she decided to travel and explore the world.
Akiko started her trip in Asia. Koh Phangan was one of her first destinations and was amazed and excited from the special spirit of the island. After few months traveling around Asia she continued to Europe and Australia. During all that period she kept coming back to Koh Phangan and got more and more certain that this is where she would like her new home to be.
In 2002 Akiko moved permanently to Koh Phangan and got her first job in an Italian restaurant in Haad Rin. Few years later in 2008, with a support of some friends, she finally got the establish her dream and opened Scuba wear.
Akiko feels very fulfilled and wish nothing but keep enjoying the shop and the island lifestyle. She is very happy with the shop and with its cozy and relaxed location, giving her the same feeling she had the first time she arrived.
