Tony Hillocks came from United Kingdom to Koh Phangan in 2006 and found bottle beach. “I loved that beach so much I stayed there for 6 weeks and started to return every year for longer and longer.” In 2012, he decided he wanted to stay on Koh Phangan long term so he became a dive master and then a diving instructor as a way to make a living on the island. “I then went on to start this restaurant.”

Kristian who runs the Crowbar in Chaloklum and Tony missed Indian takeaway food as you get back home, so they started an Indian buffet at Crowbar. “It was a great success so this gave me the idea of Korma Coma.”

Why did you choose Chaloklum?
“I chose to do the restaurant in Chaloklum because I have lived in the village for 3 years now, have made many good friends here and don’t really ever want to leave. I nearly set it up in Thong Nai Pan but got very lucky and managed to get my place here. I am very happy I get to stay in Chaloklum.

…and the name Korma Coma?
“The name, korma coma is simple korma, it is a type of curry, and you will be in a food coma when you leave my place”
The concept of korma Coma is to deliver the best home cooked food in a friendly relaxing atmosphere. There is a vegetarian Indian buffet, Sunday carveries, and daily specials and of course, Home delivery.
