'SEXY' is the name of the new recovery strategy of the Tourism Authority of Thailand to move forward after the Covid-19 pandemic. While this sounds provocative, strip clubs and go-go bars have no hot deals... there's nothing sexy in the idea of travel.
The strategy focuses on the implementation of public health security practices, the development of environmental sustainability, such as conservation and clean-up of wildlife, the provision of new travel experiences, and the drawing of high-spending visitors.
Here's how the word 'SEXY'
S stands for hygiene and safety.
E stands for the sustainability of the environment.
X stands for the experience of X-tra.
Y stands for yield... revenue from visitors that spend highly.
TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn says that the four main focuses of the "SEXY" plan reflect its aim of restoring tourism under the new normal measures.
This will help restore the confidence of tourists while promoting recovery to make a comeback stronger than ever for both the Thai economy and the tourism industry.'
"Together, stakeholders from TAT and Thai tourism will reshape Thailand's image with core messages highlighting the importance of safe and sustainable travel."
