Four projects have been approved by the Cabinet to help people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first project is to pay 1,000 baht for three months, from May until July, to 1,164,222 welfare cardholders. This proposal is earmarked for a minimum of 3.49 billion baht.
The second project will assist 302,106 people who have not registered with the "No One Left Behind" project of the Ministry of Finance. This community has provided no state assistance and is not covered by Section 33 of the Social Security Act.
The third project will cover 6,781,881 people in vulnerable groups, including poor-family children under the age of six, senior citizens over the age of 60, and the disabled. They will receive a monthly subsidy of 1,000 baht during three months, between May and July, in addition to their current allowances. The budget stands at 20.3 billion baht.
The fourth initiative would benefit 137,093 farmers impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak since they have limited access to essential agricultural infrastructure. Their statuses are being re-examined.
The State expanded the payout duration to support 120,000 farmers who had not reported or revised their data before May 15, 2020. The Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry must ensure they are licensed before July 15 this year.
