Thai Airways, the biggest Thai Airline company, will start operating 18 flights during this month to cities in Europe and Asia, enabling Thais and stranded foreign nationals to return to their home country.
Thai Airways Executive Vice President Wiwat Piyawa Roj said these flights would carry business travelers, stranded students, and tourists to five European cities and two Asian cities.
One of the European flights will leave on 11 Sept for Munich, and two flights to Frankfurt on 18 and 30 Sept. Three flights to London are scheduled to take place on Sept. 13, 20, and 27, and on Sept. 17 and 29, two flights will go to Paris. There will be two flights to Copenhagen, on 13 and 27 Sept.
Four flights to Taipei will depart on 4, 10, 18, and 25 Sept, and four to Hong Kong on 9, 16, 23, and 30 Sept.
Tickets are one-way, with a limited amount of tickets available. Thai Airlines will also have a freight operation on both arrival and departure.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, THAI collaborated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to bring back the Thais stranded outside of the country. Thais in these cities experiencing a rough time and wishing to return must contact the embassy in those countries to file, Mr. Wiwat said.
