Tropical Storm Nuri ripped the Guangdong province of China over the weekend, causing effects in Northern Thailand. In other parts of the country, a robust southwest monsoon in the Andaman Sea brought rainstorms. The storms damaged hundreds of homes, and many streets flooded.

Storms damaged 324 homes from Udon Thani in the north to Surat Thani in the south.

Some areas of Korat were flooded in the Isan region on Sunday, after hours of heavy rain. Many cars with flooded engines stranded off in Saraburi, Central Thailand, creating a traffic jam on the Mittraphap Highway.

The Thai Meteorological Department says isolated, heavy rainstorms are still expected today and tomorrow throughout the country, warning about the risk of flash floods. The Monsoon will cause heavy to hefty rains in Thailand, with the low-pressure covering Laos and Viet Nam.

Towards the end of the week, the Monsoon is forecast to weaken.
