Ian Blevins - Good Music is all that Matters

We spoke with Dj Ian Blevins about his dj life and playing at Jungle Experience on July 20th...

Hey Ian, so are you looking forward to coming to Koh Phangan?
I certainly am. I've not been for about four or five years or so now and have never DJ'ed on the island too so this will be my debut here.

I've been to Koh Phangan twice before now and the last time I was here I was at a party that looked very similar to Jungle Experience but I've no idea what it was, It could have been it. I could have been there and not even known it. I did enjoy myself. There were refreshments.

What have you been up to already this year?
This year i've been based back in the UK apart from a couple of trips to Amsterdam and Switzerland to play.

I've been working on and finishing EP's for Not An Animal Records and Futureboogie as well as my album for ESP Institute. Plus a few remixes too that will be out soon and I've been keeping myself busy till the summer and a lot of travelling commences.

How has the season in Ibiza been going?
I've not been to Ibiza this summer yet but I plan to go in October where I will be playing for my good friends at Pikes on Sunday and taking in the sights and sounds that were so familiar for so many years.

You're playing Jungle Experience, has Marco Loco filled you in on how awesome it is?
From what I've read and saw online and what Marco has told me I'm confident of having more than a good time. I can't wait.

What will you bring that is unique to Jungle?
I'm hoping a type of house and techno that isn't heard so often but will be enjoyed none the less.

What are your main projects for the rest of the year?
This gig is the start of a tour around Asia which takes in Singapore, Bali and Vietnam so far. I’m doing a festival in Obonjan, Croatia when I get back then preparing for a two week tour in Australia. I lived there many years so I'm excited about visiting again.

Outside of touring, as I mentioned earlier I'm working on an album which I am incredibly excited about and still blown away it's happening to be honest. That is my priority when I get back in the studio.

What would you say to aspiring djs hoping to play around the world?
Be yourself at all times and find your own style whether it's djing or making music.
