I invite you to join an amazing deep journey about how to draw drawing and painting Tibetan thangkas including a short meditation and lecture about the backgrounds and symbolism of Tibetan thangkas.
What will you take away from this class?
1. You’ll learn about the tradition of Thangka art, history, styles, and part of Tibetan buddhist philosophy connected with.
2. Traditional Tibetan way of painting, traditional principles and canons for drawing dieties, sacred geometry, measurements and proportion
3. In first class you will draw the Face of the Buddha the way it has been done for centuries.
If you would like to learn more - in next classes you will draw face of the Tara, the Body of the Buddha, the Body of the Tara, geometry of Mahakala, Manjushri, Avalokiteshvara, Saraswati, Vajrapani etc. Also we will learn how to draw important Buddhist symbols and meanings, how to draw flowers, clouds and other parts of the landscape.
Therefore, we recommend that you purchase a subscription for several classes at once.
Its not only about art. Its very deep transformational process which is works with archetypical energies in us and could be deep meditative experience. If you’re a buddhist practitioner, drawing a Buddha is also a great help for your visualization meditation.
This workshop is suitable for EVERYONE who interested in that Art, including beginners with no drawing experience whatsoever
The workshop will be facilitated by Maria - Thangka artist who has spent the last three years studying this art under the guidance of Tibetan master Tenzin Rabgyal in Dharamsala, in the Himalayas. She has been carefully and precisely learning all the traditional principles and canons of Sacred Buddhist Art. Traveler, yoga, and meditation practitioner since 2012.
