On the way to Haad Rin you may of spotted the very arty looking ‘View Art Bar’, this is the home of Oud, an artist who will be lending his skills to this weekend’s Colormoon Festival.
For over one year now Oud has been working with the children of the island with his ‘Sow the Seed of Art’ project which works completely by donation and all funds go into buying the next lot of equipment which he photographs and documents for all to see on his facebook page.
It all started as an idea for his daughter whose name is Din, their house is up in the mountain and so Oud wanted a way for her to see and make friends, what could he do?
So he began to invite other children to his house to learn to paint and draw but of course he could not take any money away from them.
He then set up the project at Thong Sala’s Walking Street Market with his daughter and her friends which takes place every 2nd Saturday of the month and is open to all children of the island and those visiting.
Oud will run painting workshops for children at Colormoon Festival from April 23 - 27 so please join him and donations and help are always welcome!
