Bandon International is the first international medical center in Surat Thani. It is an acute care general medical center with high professional standards, fully trained personnel, and equipped with ultra modern technology. The warmth and friendly care of the staff and the Thai people are also an additional plus.


Bandon Hospital was started by a husband and wife team 30 years ago in Surat Thani, she is a nurse and he is a gynecologist. They opened the Koh Samui Bandon 25 years ago and it was the island’s first private hospital.

This was in response over the years to increasing demands for its services, by successive expansions of its Surat Thani facility and with the opening of the new 32 bed medical center on Koh-Samui in 1987 (Bandon International Hospital Samui).


For Bandon International Koh-Phangan a hospital which has a sophisticated 9-bed capacity and have a Clinic with 24 hours emergency on Koh Phangan Island.

Bandon Hospital Koh Phangan opened October 2015 and now has two doctors, six nurse ates and four certified nurses based on Koh Phangan.

The owners are now in their seventies but still hard at work and based on Koh Samui, they visit the team on Koh Phangan every two months during Full Moon time.

The hospital treats travellers and Thai people with private rooms if people need a more quiet space to recover.

They have an emergency room, X-ray facilities, laboratory and doctors room and can deal with most cases they encounter including; Gastro cases, Dengue fever, Wounds, Mild head injuries and more.

The lab on site can test for 80% of problems and if it is a special case then they can send it to the Samui Bandon and recieve a result in six or seven hours back to Koh Phangan. They can check for malaria, dengue fever, typhoid fever, bacterial infection syphilis, hepatitis, HIV, hemoculture (blood culture) etc,

Bandon International offers a full range of medical services from primary care to multiple specialty experts including complete surgical and trauma compatibility.

They strive to be a medical service center dedicated to maintaining the highest internationally accepted standards of medical practice by delivering quality patient care to all customers, in order to reach the customers complete satisfaction. Their goal is to provide high quality health care, in the most effective way, not only to local residents but to international visitors as well.


Bandon Hospital also has a westerner who deals with international insurance and can contact companies for foreign travellers or find other solutions although it is very important that travellers DO HAVE insurance before they travel.

The hospital is located in Baan Tai opposite Luna Cafe, they offer health check ups, certificates for work permit or diving health checks, doctor consultations and facilities for more serious cases or accidents.

The hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with its own ambulance and ER for serious cases or wound care. If you are worried about infection or cleaning of wounds then do not hesitate to walk into the hospital where they can offer cleaning and care or diagnose infection or other ailments.
