Jamie (manager) told us, "I am currently refurbishing The Harp Irish Bar at the end of Thong Sala Ferry port to make it a great place for both locals and tourists alike." His desire is "to to provide a bar that caters to everything but in a relaxing and comfortable environment, a home away from home let’s say".
He was fortunate to work in both Samui and Phangan, and now the new owners of Harp Bar tracked him down, and asked if he would take over their bar and transform it in to the bar it should be...and that's exactly what Jamie is doing now.
Just the other day Phanganist was invited to participate in Jamie's celebration for the bars Grand Re-opening, the evening when their doors re-opened to the public, and the place revealed its new recent improvements.
Previously, we were invited to attend one of the Harp Bar's charity events (awareness charity event for men's health) held back in November on the 29th.
The event "Sing a Song for Charity" was a big hit, and many residents along with tourists had a roundabout with the mic on-stage!
We filmed throughout the night and put together a short movie that sums up the evening...and shows you just how nice Harp Bar really is!

As for Harp Bar's future plans, Jamie said: "We are on stage one of our plan for Harp Bar. Stage 2 in late September we will be re-modelling the whole area inside, ready for our Hostel in April 2015. We have the best position on the Island and we have to take advantage of that as much as possible."
