The monk Luang Phor Phet was practising at Ampawan Temple and whilst there he was looking out for a place to have another Temple so that he could practice some solo peaceful meditation.

He found this land, which was nice and quiet and on the hill, a perfect location, so he built Wat Phu Khao Noi. It has been almost 100 years since he has died but there are still his footprints on the stone there. Thai people feel that this is a miracle as this monk is believed to have had great power.

The area where these footprints lay is sacred as this is where Luang Phor Pet would go to meditate and not allow other people, it was his private area.

In the year 2540 (1997) the Fine Arts Department registered the temple as one of the historic hills of historical value. The building has a main Pagoda (tower). This white tower is ten meters high and surrounded by a group of eight pagodas, each having a different architectural style. The platform is adorned with Chinese bowls around the base.

Another building is the old chapel, this temple is one of the smallest in the country.

Wat Phu Khao Noi is situated on a mountain peak. The peaceful location is a perfect place for meditation.

The Temple Supports training for children whilst on vacation to go there and practice becoming a monk, to study about buddhism. They have supported this for two years already and they will continue doing so.
