Phangan Island Project (PIP)
Due to unforseen circumstances, PIP needs to evacuate the current facility ASAP. Currently, the program is operating solely from volunteers- we need all the help we can get! We welcome all who are willing to help us prepapre to relocate to a bigger venue, as our project expands.
Phangan Island Project (PIP) is the new recycling program on Koh Phangan. Our mission is create a unified recycling system on the island to reduce the pollution caused by waste. So far, with the help of volunteers, we have diverted more than 4,000 kg of recyclables from the landfill! Please join us to give back to our beloved island :)
They key to recycling is separation: We need volunteers to help us separate the label, lid, and the ring around the neck of plastic bottles so they can be recycled.
If you have any recyclables (aluminum cans/ plastic bottles/ glass), bring them to be processed.
This event will take place at the PIP facility, about 300 meters North of the big Yang Na tree (past where Wat Po is in Baan Tai) on the left side. See discussion for photos. You can also find us on google maps "PIP Facilty"
