We recently published a very personal message to all people of Koh Phangan, visitors and residents.
We have asked for productive ideas for how the island can improve its environmental status especially when it comes to the Full Moon party.
We are still looking for many ideas which will be discussed with The Tourist Association of Koh Phangan who we are working closely with.
Here are some examples that we have received, thank you and keep them coming!
Linda La Luna:
Instead of continuing the idea of cleaning being done for the visitors perhaps teach the leave no trace movement. LNT signs and info in bungalows, rooms bars and at the party. Some will take it to heart easily and even pass on the idea of collective responsibility. Get lonely planet to list it too. There's lot that can be done and I know it'll take time and effort.
John Fitton:
Raise awareness so less rubbish is dumped on the beach so it needs less collecting.
Encourage all island beach front owners to clean their beach area... Beaches are linked... By the sea
