Welcome back to Koh Phangan! Are enjoying yourself so far?
Of course! I’m enjoying the thai food, the weather, atmosphere, the beer!
Everything about beer actually, leo, singha and more Leo!!!
What have you heard about One Love Bar?
That it’s a chilling, reggae music bar. I’m excited for how it’s gonna be, it must be chilling laid back people.
What are your main projects over new year?
I’m gonna have a unit, a dj unit called ‘sake monster’, the name is not decided but I would love it to be called that.
The dj I am working with ‘He told me’, she’s super cool, she’s sitting next to me right now whilst I’m having my interview with you guys. We will have the unit together and play the japanese dj scene. She’s performing in main venues in Japan, so I’m really excited!
What sort of stuff will the unit do?
For now we promote the song ‘My name is Neco Chan’. I made the song and japanese people are really into ‘J (japanese) pop’ music, they really like that song so I want to put this into the japanese club scene.
Is the club scene new for your style?
Yes but people are kinda getting tired of edm, edm, edm, so I have to come up with something different. I’m still searching where they are heading to.
Why do think Koh Phangan is special?
Koh Phangan for me stands for world peace. There’s a lot of different groups, people and cultures but they don’t fight.
There’s no other place to be when you are here and I hope the whole world will be like Koh Phangan, I really do.
Are you going to any parties and have you been to them before?
As for the party scene, I like Jungle Experience as it’s very different from your usual party.
I like to go to Fubar too because they’re not playing ‘top 40 songs’ they have their own style and people are nice there.
Of course I will love to go to One Love Bar. I can go down before the gig because I want to check things.
And I always love to visit Haad Rin ‘dna tattoo shop’ their work gives me inspiration and they do amazing work plus the owner is really cool.
What do you think of Phanganist?
I’m very jealous of you guys!!! You know exactly how to have fun and where to go in Koh Phangan, I like to see your youtube videos as you’re putting a lot of work into this and the photo work too.
If I search ‘Phangan’ then Phanganist ones come up and plus they are also the best.
I met Sharon at Jungle Experience and he was taking loads of pictures and then we met at the airport in Bangkok. He was going somewhere, I don’t remember where but we were like ‘Oh my god, you’re out of Koh Phangan! What are you doing?!’. It’s like a weird destiny, we were meant to work together maybe?
Does Phangan inspire your singing?
Yes it’s the sound of nature and also the music played here gives me new vibes as I always hear new stuff.
We have a different kind of taste in Japan, same like americans like this, europeans like this style etc so I hear a lot of different music here. This merges into the nature that the island has, it has a really nice vibe.
