This is your first time here, what do you think so far?
It’s a beautiful island with lovely people, I’ve met many, many friends who are very open minded, it’s a good feeling with good guys. I don’t want to leave.

Although I don’t understand the hype of full moon it’s not my kind of music.

So what got you started as a dj?
I didn’t want to be a dj but had an interest in Chicago House and Detroit Techno. Because I know so much about this, people started to ask me about my knowledge and I would meet promoters of parties and they would ask questions.

Off the back of this I started because then the promoters asked me to start djing, since then I have been continuing and now have two residencies in Munich.

So it was the music to start with…

It’s not the mainstem hype, it’s the underground, the roots. The guys that started to make this music make it now what it is.

So what have you been up to for the beginning of this year?
I wanted to calm down a bit with djing and start producing but actually it’s been the contrary as I have many gigs now.  In the last two years there was a lot of djing gigs so I’m not looking for them, it’s coming by itself and it comes when i don’t expect it, like Koh Phangan and now another Munich club.

You’re playing at Waterfall Party, what have you heard?
I didn’t hear much about the music but did hear that the location is great. I actually went on Sunday so I saw it myself then.

It’s really cool for the music, the location and the people. It’s a crazy mix of people and in the middle of the jungle, this is really crazy

What will you bring to the dancefloor?

I’m doing a warm up set so I cannot start with Hard Techno so it will be Tech House. My job is to prepare people for the next dj, to warm them up and bring the atmosphere.

And where do you go after Phangan?
I’m going to Bangkok first as I have some gigs then leaving for Germany at the beginning of april.

And what will you be doing back in Germany?
My resident nights every month and also ‘Familia Electronica, Munich’ which is a name for events me and other people organise, it’s a podcast and event series which we take to different venues.

I’m also part of Freunde der Nacht (friends of the night) a collective of artists that organise events. We are about ten artists coming from different cities in Germany and organising parties where we dj

What has been the best thing you've been involved with?

From nothing we created an event just using wooden storage boxes which we put our equipment and generators on and people could dance on this. It was in an old warehouse, we started djing and people came, they found out through the internet. It was an underground gathering, better than a party with ten thousand people.

It was just a one time thing but we are always looking for spontaneous locations, it’s a big problem in Munich, there are so many clubs but not locations as such.

What for you is exciting in electronic music at the moment?
There is no frontier between the people, no war or racism and everybody loves each other through the music. In the underground scene people are focused on loving the music rather than if someone is not nice or how they’re dressed, music is not a fashion.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
My goal is not to be famous but I will just go on doing my music so I go where the music takes me.

What is your music philosophy?
Music is the key, music is the answer.
