Bonjour Elisa, welcome to the Phanganist crazy team! So how did you end up on Phangan?

I arrived here two years ago and have been living here since. I came here because of my boyfriend, he made me discover the island as he has been coming for ten years now. So when we started going out together and he said he was coming for six months I just followed him!

What have you been doing here?

I make t-shirts, customised t-shirts are my main thing and I also have a blog. The blog was fashion at first but now there is a health section with yoga and meditation which I have discovered here.
I also have a shop online where I sell Thai products and my own things.

On Phangan I love having time so I can do things for myself, making handy things, I love taking my time. I used to live in Paris so it was more of a stressful life, the thing I love here is ‘retour au sources’ return to the source. The priorities of life are different, in Europe you earn money, have to be on time, you have a routine, but here your priorities are simple like going to the supermarket to get your meals done, you take time, you wash your dishes by hand, it is like the life you would of had one hundred years ago.

You will be our new food and fashion guru, why are you so interested in these things?

Well food comes from my family, my mum and grandma are really good cooks so I really love eating and cooking, I eat what I love, I don’t worry about my weight, I am lucky!

I love eating, it’s part of life and health, and fashion, well since I was five I have liked putting my mums clothes on and getting disguised, I love sparkles.

I used to work in PR in the press office for Barbara Bui which is a French luxury brand and I was so excited to be in the middle of all the wonderful clothes.

What do you think of Thai food?

I didn’t really know it when I arrived so I have discovered it and I really like it. I’m not really fond of spicy right now but I am starting to educate myself with spicy food. I think Thai food is really refined. I love all things with coconut milk, coconut soup, I love sweet and sour and sweet coconut mango sticky rice.

What about the neon army full moon fashion?

Honestly? I think it’s shitty, the total outfit of yellow or orange with full moon stuff. You don’t need it to have fun at the party but I think there is a real style on Koh Phangan, with all the ripped, cut out clothes like Lek art and Leela, this is real Phangan style.

Where have you seen the best outfits so far?

In Backyard Bar, I think Backyard everytime is like a fashion show with different styles and personalities and extraordinary outfits!

Maybe because it’s an after party so people have been partying so they don’t care anymore what people think, they let go and be who they are inside and go back to their animal instincts.

Where is your favourite place on Koh Phangan?

We live in Hin Kong and it’s the best place as it is really, really quiet with an amazing bay with a sand bank coming out into the sea which is completely amazing. You get beautiful sunsets with colours and Thai people fishing, I could watch this view for hours.

Congratulations on getting engaged, will you miss Phangan when you’re away for your wedding?

Yes of course, I’m gonna miss my life here, my friends, but we are planning on organising a third part wedding here!

What is your life philosophy?
Live in the present moment.
