Iain Blessant was born in Northwest London, UK to parents Margaret and Lionel, he also has a sister named Charlotte. At age 13 he moved with his family to New Zealand but remained a fan of football team Tottenham Hotspurs.

He was a gentle giant even from a young age and always a very loving man as most of us will remember.

Iain had been a raw vegan on and off for around 4 years and said that it just made him ‘feel better’, he loved his time based in the tropics where he could enjoy all of the fruit that grows here and described it as ‘one of the most optimal places for me to be living and thriving!’.

New Zealand has a thriving Drum n Bass/Jungle music scene and this is where Iain would immerse himself in the Soundsystem culture which he loved.

“I was at every rave going hard supporting the local scene and played at various clubs including  Wax'd Wednesday's at Fubar in Auckland and have supported heavyweight artists such as DJ Slipmatt, Mark Pritchard and Kryptic Minds just to name a few”.

Iain’s DJ name was ‘Ital Bless’ and during his years visiting the island of Koh Phangan he played at the famous Sunrise Bar on Haad Rin Beach for the Full Moon Parties as well as FUBAR and Phanganist Hosel, dedicating his sets to the underground scene that is Drum and Bass and Jungle music.

Iain loved his times on the island and at one point he wanted to raise money to stay here so spent dedicated hours recording his large collection of vinyl into digital so he could sell it to raise the funds to stay longer on Koh Phangan, the place he called his home.

Iain had planned to leave his spiritual home of Koh Phangan on the 7th of June and return in December. We will all remember Iain for his passion for Music and Fruit, the biggest fan of Durian and Jungle Music and although he has physically gone he shall remain in all of our hearts and through every Drum and Bass track that is played on Koh Phangan.

Iain’s Parents and his Sister wish to thank the community of Koh Phangan for all of their kind words, support and visits during this sad time.
