Details are still coming through but at this time it appears that Andrea has suffered two major breaks in one leg, a dislocated / broken hip, a broken clavicle, a severely damaged patella, several skull fractures, major nerve damage and has issues with her liver.
She is in a government hospital in Thailand and has undergone two round of surgery thus far, but sadly, as she had no insurance, the care being given is an absolute minimum and unlikely to meet the standard that is needed for a full recovery. Currently her Mother and friends are caring for her in the hospital as even basics such as sanitation are not covered in this type of hospital.
A major concern at the moment is her Brachial plexus injury. There is some concern that leaking bone marrow could cause death at the moment - it is a slim risk, but there nonetheless. The chances of her losing her right arm without the correct care at the moment are sadly very high. She is currently unaware of this.
There are two options which could save her life, arm, or both.
One is to repatriate Andrea, and have her mother, who is a nurse, fly back with her to a specialist in the UK. The other is to have her taken to the Phuket Bangkok hospital, and have the required specialist surgeon flown out to her. Both will be very expensive, costs are likely to be in excess of twenty five thousand pounds.
Andrea desperately needs your help. She has touched so many peoples lives, if each of them could help out just a little, we could make this happen.
