Pranayama is the practice of breath control in yoga, designed to enhance the connection between the mind and body. Derived from the Sanskrit words "prana" (life force or breath) and "ayama" (control or extension), pranayama involves various techniques that regulate and modify the breath to improve physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
