Thar Khone (aka.Yaak Lab) is a Bangkok based Drum & Bass producer. He is making music for major and independent labels and music production for commercial and feature film. For his own production he plans to send demos to some DNB labels abroad and release his DNB tunes soon.
You play in Bangkok, which venues in particular?
My DNB party "Yaak Party" is based at a small bar named JAM (near BTS Surasak) every second friday of the month. Also I run a new DNB night named "Ta-Mone" with my friends "Jiving Tribe Crew" at Grease Club, Sukhumvit 49 every third Saturday of the month.
You are playing on Friday Sep 11th, Tell us about that night?
I will play support for the legend LTJ BUKEM. He is one of the most famous DNB artists for Thai people and he has a lot of fans here. It’s my honor to play and support him.
Are you resident Dj anywhere in Bangkok?
Not yet, I think I'm more of an artist not a professional Dj. I enjoy to Dj in different events more than work as a resident Dj.
Do you have other plans to perform in Thailand other places?
I would like to join the full moon DNB party on Koh Phangan but have not had the chance to do that yet.
What projects are you currently involved with?
“Ta-Mone" which is a new Drum & Bass night at Grease Club, join us if you have a chance to visit Bangkok.
What is the best thing you ever been involved with or done?
There are a lot of good things, Such as Djing for Wong Kar Wai's event in Shanghai is one of my good memories. Also I had the chance to learn DNB production & Mixing skills from Sabre (Ivy Lab/Critical Music) when he lived in Bangkok two years ago. It’s improved my music production skills a lot, thank you so much Sabre. : )
How did you get to where you are today and what is your life philosophy?
Actually I think I have not got much talent with music, but practicing and studying hard has helped me a lot to improve my skill and level. So even now I still watch a lot of tutorial videos from youtube channels like Point Blank Music or Future Music Magazine.
