We meet Sophie from Denmark who is the first guest ever at the new Phanganist Hostel…….
How did you find your night stay at the Phanganist Hostel?
I was looking around the internet and found the magazine Phanganist.com online and saw there was a hostel opening so thought it sounded cool so I decided to stay 1 night before i move to my permenant residence.
What impressions did you have of our little paradise?
I liked the european vibe and the style, and although I was the only person staying the staff were very helpful. I loved the cold pool after 18 hours after my bus journey from Penang - it was exactly what i needed after my long journey.
How did you find the Dorm Room?
The bed is sooooooo comfy and I have been travelling in Thailand for 5 months which is a long time and it was great to have curtains around the bed, which is rare for hostels, and it helped me a have a very good night sleep. The air con was perfect and i didnt want to get out of bed I was so cosy.
Any other comments about the Hostel?
The lady at reception was so friendly and super nice and a few thai guys were still working on something, and they gave me coffee and helped me settle in it's a great little place. After the penang visa run which is such a long boring journey this place was exactly what i needed to walk into to recharge the batteries
Will you be back to see us again?
No doubt about it - I will be back for the pool parties and the warm up parties as it is going to be a fantastic vibe and a great place to chill in the freezing cold pool after the parties.
What plans have you got while you are here on Koh Phangan?
Definately the Full Moon Party after the Phanganist warm up party, and I will try to make the other parties before and after The Full Moon as well. I want to see the waterfalls on the island now that the rain has stopped and they have filled up as i hear they are amazing at this time of year. I will also be going diving on the island as i did my open water course at Pirate Divers so I will now be exploring the Ocean around the island and obviously I cannot wait to get started on this.
What you favourite things about Koh Phangan?
The cheap Fruit Shakes! There are a lot of cute boys here too! - I love the beaches and the parties and just the general chilled out vibe where there is a sense of freedom where i can do anything and go anywhere and every day is amazing. I love the food available especially the Fried Basil Leaves and the rice soup but there is too much good food to mention. I loved Ko Phi Phi for the same reasons but not as much as I love koh phangan.
