The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration today announced that, despite the controversy swirling around 2 Covid-19 cases this week-in Bangkok and in Rayong-Thailand 's medical tourism and wellness programs will continue. CCSA spokesman Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin says the Ministry of Public Health will announce a list of hospitals that will pass its criteria next week and allow the first group of medical tourists to land in Thailand within 2 weeks.
He says the program will operate under strict guidelines including making sure that general patients are safe and that visitors are not allowed to enter public areas. The visitors will receive massage and spa services, fitness programs, healthy meals, and herbal products upon arrival under a special visa.
More than 1,700 people have registered for the programme, according to a July 3 announcement. The first group will come from seventeen countries including Myanmar, Laos , Vietnam, China, the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. They will only be allowed to travel around Thailand once they have completed their 14 day quarantine and treatment.
Medical tourists will be subjected to 3 Covid-19 tests ... before their flight to Thailand, once they arrive and then return home. Anyone who tests positive for Covid-19 will receive treatment in private hospitals in special areas prepared for foreigners.
Only approved air traveling medical tourists will be allowed into Thailand, and all must have a Thai embassy entry certificate.
